If you are an adult who wants to start a Youth Unit at your children's school or church, this flyer will be useful in proposing the idea.
The Sacred Heart Youth Crusade is a joyful, global movement that helps young people grow in virtue. It's flexible by design, so young people everywhere can take part in a way that fits their situation.
How Units Work
Youth take part through small groups called Units. There are several ways to form one:
A private unit can be set up for just one family, with an adult's support. Parents/guardians can start a unit in their own home with at least one child, acting as the leader(s). A parent/guardian can also propose a new unit that other local children can join.
Educators, ministry leaders, librarians, pastors, and others working with youth can start a unit too
Existing youth groups can simply adopt the Youth Crusade into what they already do — no need to start something new.
Young people can join an existing unit and take part in regional Chapter activities.
Important: Anyone starting an official unit must contact their regional Sacred Heart Crusade chapter, and all leaders must practice the Christian faith.
Even without joining a unit, all young people can still take part in the Youth Crusade.
What Units Do
Units receive a newsletter with global updates, activities, and contests. They can host:
Spiritual formation & Bible study
Creative contests & skill workshops
Leadership development
Regional activities (sports, outdoor events, etc.)
All official activities must center on bringing children closer to Christ.
Unit Identity
Each unit chooses a Christian or appropriate name, formatted as:
(Name) Youth Unit #(number) — the number is assigned by regional leadership in order of creation.
Names must be approved by regional leadership.
Units may choose their own theme, colors, and banner.
An optional social media page is allowed, and should represent the movement well.
Units work well in schools, churches, homeschool groups, or public spaces like libraries.
In a world of cold hearts, these units allow young people to grow in faith and share that faith with a world that needs it.
